Field experts will guide you through this DIY workshop to provide you with the hands-on experience needed to install a rainwater collection system of your own. This course is a requirement of the Groundwater Conservation Grant Program that reimburses up to $3,000 for implementing a rainwater harvesting system in the District! More information about the Grant Program can be found here: https://posgcd-backup.ttnx.com/grant-programs/

12:30 PM to 2:30 PM – Turf Management
This two-hour workshop will build off what was learned earlier in the day during Rainwater Harvesting 101 and focus on helping Texas homeowners with yard/turf management tips to get the most out of their lawns. The program will focus on how to create a low-maintenance, water-conserving lawn by covering how to irrigate with rainwater, select a turf-grass species adapted to this area, and train participants on management practices that keep their lawns green while still protecting water.
